Artist Biography
Audre Carmical, homemaker and former elementary school teacher, began painting in 1964. She took oil painting from Professor Fred Goldberg of San Francisco, California.
In 1974 she switched to watercolor. It soon became her favorite medium and she enrolled in classes and workshops with several renowned artists such as Marilyn Simandle, Charles Reid, Christopher Schinck and Judy Morris.
She joined Konocti Art Society in Lakeport, California in 1984, exhibiting and selling her paintings through art shows, galleries and wineries. Painting is her passion. Watercolor is a constant challenge and she delights in its spontaneity, versatility and transparency.
After moving to Florence, Oregon in 2004, Audre began painting on the synthetic paper, Yupo. She has exhibited locally many times and has won awards in the annual Celebrate Arts exhibit held at the Florence Events Center. She is a member of Monday Painters and The Brush and Palette Club of Oregon.
