The Quercia Gallery
The
Quercia Gallery
opened
its doors in 1990, in the historic town of Duncans Mills.
The town is nestled in the rolling hills, surrounded by
redwoods and is next to the Russian River, four miles
from the coast. Ron Quercia (pronounced quer-sha meaning
oak in Italian), moved his gallery and frame
shop from Petaluma Madison Street Gallery (est. 1980),
to Duncans Mills. Ron reopened the Quercia Gallery bringing
his reputation as framer, early California art collector,
and gallery director. Ron exhibited over 50 artists in
the new gallery which created a salon atmosphere.
In
1995, the Quercia Gallery merged with the Family Gallery
which was part of the same historic building. Owner and
director of the Family Gallery, Bobbi Jeanne, exhibited
three generations of family members in Duncans Mills.
She was raised in the town of Mendocino where her family
had the first Family Gallery (est. in 1960). The two galleries
merged in 1995 and Ron and Bobbi Jeanne were married in
2000. With the gallery now owned and directed by the two
of them, Bobbi Jeanne concentrates on exhibits and Ron
the framing and both work as a team to select and curate
the exhibitions.
Quercia Gallery is located in the Country Stores Courtyard
in Duncans Mills, California which is on Highway 116 between
Guerneville and Jenner. It's a very pleasant country drive
along the Russian River.
