Artist Biography
A native Oregonian, Delores moved to Florence in 2001.
Having been raised on the Oregon coast helped develop
a love for the sea and forests and therefore influenced
her landscapes and seascapes. Though she is self-taught,
she has taught oil painting for many years privately,
and through Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Oregon,
and Peninsula College at Sequim, Washington.
She has
shown in galleries throughout the United States and
abroad. The experience of teaching has kept her studying
and constantly challenged. For Delores, "Painting is
a personal form of self-expression to be shared with
others. Landscapes and seascapes present a unique challenge
to set a mood, a mystery, and a magic." She is
now looking forward to working in her studio on new
paintings and the reproduction of paintings for cards.
Delores
is an active member of "The Monday Painting Group."
This is stimulating group of artists working in all
mediums with the goal of pursuing more knowledge in
the arts. And she is represented by The River Gallery
in Old Town Florence.
