Heceta
Head Lighthouse has guided mariners since 1894. It stands on a 520 ft.
high promontory named for the Spanish explorer Bruno Heceta who came
this way in 1775. The Heceta keepers house, a few hundred yards east
of the lighthouse, was built in 1893. Fisherman still depend on the
lighthouse for safe navigation of the coast. The keepers house is now
a bed and breakfast.
