The local fishing
boats rest quietly as the sun rises over the Siuslaw River at Old Town
Florence, Oregon. The fishing industry was once a thriving business,
but it is now made up of a dwindling number of boats hanging on to a
life that only a few hardy men and women feel is worth the effort. Old
Town now depends on the tourist to maintain the charm and economy of
a time gone by.
