Since 1995 Birgitt Lyon has been living in Florence—vacation land—and loving it! She was born 1940 during WWII in Tilsit, East Prussia, near the Baltic Sea, and spent most of her childhood and formative years there and near Leipzig after having to flee Prussia. While educated in Germany, she received her first taste of the USA as an exchange student in Pennsylvania, graduating with the senior class. After completion of studies in Kassel, Germany, she returned to the United States and studied design and fine arts at Chouinard and UCLA in Los Angeles. Once time became available again to be creative, instead of using a brush and a pencil as tools to express herself, she chose a new tool for her—a camera. Wowed by God's wonderful creation and beauty here in Oregon, she decided to tackle the technical challenge of a camera. Whether it is amazing landscapes and vistas, or a lowly soap bubble reflecting colors of the macrocosm of the universe in its microcosm, Birgitt is on an exciting visual and technically challenging adventure and loves to share its "harvest" with you. For further information regarding her images and cards, Birgitt can be reached at 1.541.997.5245.
