Biography

Rosie Hill has been active in the Florence art scene since moving to the coast a few years ago. In 2003, she opened and operated “Art Like A Wheel,” a unique art gallery that was a huge success, aesthetically. After closing the gallery, she produced several versions of “ArtGift,” a well-received show focusing on small affordable art.

She served for several years on the Gallery Committee at the Florence Events Center (FEC), chairing the committee for one year. For two years, she chaired the FEC’s juried art show, “Celebrate Arts.” She has taught art classes to adults and children.

As a mixed-media artist, she enjoys and employs many techniques: drawing, painting, collage, assemblage. Many art forms capture her interest: art journals, altered books, art dolls. She is an avid maker and collector of Artist Trading Cards and has started a coastal trading group. Her work has been published in Somerset Studio and Art Doll Quarterly.
