Portrait of Lola Simpson.I could probably write my biography in one short sentence.  I have always loved anything associated with the arts.  From the age of seven when I drew my first “good picture” to now when I painted a watercolor  that won second prize, my first love has been creating paintings in any media, but especially in mixed  media watercolors.
My education stared in the museums of San Francisco, and one high school art class.  Much later I took art courses in a two year college and numerous workshops with Frank Webb, Jan Kunz, Zalton Szabo, Barbara Nechis, and many other known artists and learned the finer points of painting, but my best education was with “brush miles”, and experimentation.  Art books and cd’s have played an important role in developing my painting skills too.  This painting experience is a “now” one for me

But painting with ones peers is important too.  In California I belonged to   WASCO (Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County,) was President of a Plein air group, and painted with some Napa Valley WC artists.  I exhibited in some Juried shows, acme group shows and in the county fairs.

Now I live in the beautiful city of Florence, Oregon and it is one of the best environments to encourage anyone to be creative.  I am a member of the Monday Painters, take classes from Susan Weathers year round, and take some of the workshops that are offered during the year.  Occasionally I show my paintings at one of the numerous venues.  I like to share my “work” with others. I love to paint.

Oscar Wilde said. ” The secret of life is in art.”  I agree
